Qatar Cricket Association extends partnership with Qatar Airways

This sponsorship represents a significant leap for the Qatari cricket community.

The Qatar Cricket Association (QCA) has extended its sponsorship deal with Qatar Airways for the Qatar Cricket Association T20 Tournament 2022. The competition is being held at the West Bay cricket grounds with the participation of 64 teams.

The Premier Division, which is contested by ten teams, will hold its final match tomorrow i.e. July 1 at the Asian Cricket Ground between Warriors Cricket Club and Galfar Al Misnad Cricket Club.

Besides that, 30 teams participated in Division B, while 24 teams competed in Division C.

Qatar Airways, Group Chief Executive, H E Akbar Al Baker, said, “For many years, Qatar’s expat community has long been passionate about cricket. The development of the sport has reached new heights within the local community. We are committed to supporting the growth of cricket in Qatar by being the Main Sponsor for the QCA T20 Tournament 2022.”

Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, President of the QCA, conveyed his enthusiasm for the furtherance of the sponsorship with Qatar Airways. He also cited the committee’s efforts to broaden the scope of the longstanding affiliations with the airline.

This sponsorship represents a significant leap for the Qatari cricket community, with the goal of assisting in the development of this sport, particularly in light of the QCA’s great efforts to expand the game and broaden the base of involvement in it, by attracting players and conveying their love for the sport.
