Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), the Ligue 1 champions and one of Europe’s most commercially progressive football clubs, have renewed their global partnership with Visit Qatar, extending a long-standing nation branding alliance that has become one of the most recognisable relationships in world football.
The renewal was officially unveiled in Doha during the opening of Ici C’est Paris Park, PSG’s first permanent themed fan park, signalling a deeper commercial and cultural alignment between the two organisations.
Visit Qatar will continue as a premium global partner of Paris Saint-Germain, reinforcing Qatar’s long-term strategy of leveraging elite sport to drive tourism, international visibility, and soft power. While financial terms were not disclosed, the partnership remains one of PSG’s flagship commercial agreements and a central pillar of Qatar’s sports-led destination marketing platform.
Under the renewed agreement, Visit Qatar retains extensive brand integration across PSG’s men’s and women’s teams, spanning digital and social platforms, global marketing campaigns, hospitality programmes, and fan engagement initiatives. The partnership increasingly focuses on experiential storytelling, positioning Qatar not simply as a sponsor but as a destination brand embedded within PSG’s global fan narrative.
Richard Heaselgrave, Chief Revenue Officer at Paris Saint-Germain, said, “Today marks the continuation of a shared story. Visit Qatar and Paris Saint-Germain have built a relationship grounded in long-term vision, creativity and cultural connection. Over more than a decade, this partnership has grown into one of our most meaningful and enduring collaborations, and its renewal reflects our confidence in its long-term potential. Celebrating this new chapter in Doha, during the opening of Ici C’est Paris Park, highlights the depth of our cooperation and our commitment to inspiring fans and travellers around the world.”
Eng. Abdulaziz Ali Al-Mawlawi, CEO of Visit Qatar, added, “This renewed partnership marks an important milestone in our ongoing collaboration with Paris Saint-Germain. Together, we have built a relationship that goes beyond sport, one that reflects shared values of creativity, excellence and global connectivity. The opening of ICI C’est Paris Park in Doha is a testament to our commitment to delivering meaningful experiences for fans and visitors. As we enter this new chapter, we look forward to amplifying Qatar’s appeal as a vibrant destination where world-class sport, culture and hospitality come together.”
The launch of Ici C’est Paris Park marks a significant evolution in PSG’s global strategy. The permanent fan destination features immersive football experiences, interactive attractions, themed retail, and family-focused entertainment zones. For PSG, the park reinforces its transition from a football club into a lifestyle and entertainment brand. For Qatar, it provides a permanent sports tourism asset linked to a globally recognised football property.
Visit Qatar, the national tourism body tasked with promoting the country as an international travel destination, has increasingly leaned on sport and entertainment to diversify inbound tourism beyond mega-events. The renewed PSG partnership aligns with Qatar’s post FIFA World Cup 2022 strategy, which prioritises sustained visitor growth through culture, leisure, and long-term brand collaborations. This approach is also reflected in partnerships across motorsport and endurance sport, including Audi’s Formula 1 project, the Professional Triathletes Organisation, and assets such as the Lusail International Circuit.
From PSG’s perspective, the renewal further consolidates its presence in the Middle East, a region that has played a central role in the club’s commercial expansion since Qatar Sports Investments acquired the club in 2011. The partnership supports PSG’s global fan acquisition strategy, particularly across the Middle East, Asia, and emerging markets, where destination-led collaborations resonate strongly with younger, digitally engaged audiences.
The agreement also continues to integrate PSG players and club assets into Visit Qatar’s global campaigns through content creation, international activations, and promotional initiatives designed to convert football fandom into travel intent. Within PSG’s wider commercial ecosystem, Visit Qatar sits alongside global partners including 1XBet, Haier, WWE, Kevin Durant, Qatar Airways, Bitpanda, and Culture Capital.
On the pitch, Paris Saint-Germain remain firmly in the domestic title race, sitting one point behind leaders RC Lens in Ligue 1, while holding a comfortable third-place position in their UEFA Champions League group. Upcoming fixtures include a Coupe de France round of 64 tie against Vendée Fontenay Foot, a Ligue 1 clash with Paris FC, and a high-profile Trophée des Champions final against Olympique de Marseille.
The renewed partnership underscores a broader industry shift away from logo-led sponsorship towards experience-driven collaborations. By anchoring the extension around a permanent fan park, PSG and Visit Qatar are betting on always-on engagement, physical infrastructure, and cultural relevance to deliver long-term commercial and tourism impact well beyond traditional sponsorship cycles.
