The Ligue 1 outfit, Paris Saint-Germain has announced the extension of its association with the payment card service company, American Express. PSG and American Express have been working together since 2015, with renewing their partnership in 2018, for three years. With the renewal expiring, PSG has decided to continue their partnership for a further three years. In the new deal, the partnership will run until 2024.
The amount related to the deal has not been revealed, but with American Express being a premium partner it offers an annual income between 5-10 million euros to the club. Apart from that, PSG also benefits from the concierge services provided by American Express within the Parc des Princes’ Hospitalities space. It is believed that the space can accommodate around 5,000 supporters for each PSG match, and the Parisian stadium concierge will also continue to keep its name as “The Conciergerie du Parc – American Express”.
Speaking on the occasion, Jerome Gueydan, Vice President of Consumer Marketing at American Express, said: “I am delighted to renew our partnership with Paris Saint-Germain. Over the years, we have enriched the experiences we offer our customers. The Conciergerie du Parc and the meetings with the players have become essential.”
Following this partnership, PSG and American Express will also keep on offering advantages and exclusive experiences for its customers outside the stadium. While in these experiences it includes, invitations to exceptional events where the PSG players will be present at the Parc des Princes, Camp des Loges, or private evenings at the Megastore.
Apart from this, the renewed deal saw a new development as American Express has now extended its partnership to the eSport section of the Paris Saint-Germain. As a result, American Express cardholders would be able to meet professional players of PSG eSport and face them in matches.
Speaking about this, Cynthia Marcou, Head of partnerships of the Parisian club, said: “PSG and American Express share a common DNA of innovation. The extension of the partnership to the eSport section, which allows us to reach an ever more international and diverse audience, is the illustration.”
