PSG partners with Pitta Mask for Merchandise Collection

European giants Paris Saint-Germain recently announced about partnering up with Japanese company Arax. The brand is famous for designing fashionable Pitta Masks. The defending French champions will be collaborating with their new global sponsors to create a new line of face masks for the PSG players and their supporters.

The masks will make their debut in the PSG stores and E-commerce platforms worldwide after all the seven designs are revealed. These special edition masks will feature the name or crest of the Ligue 1 top-tier team. Masks will be available for fans from the summer.

Founded in 2013, Pitta Masks made its entry into the market as a fashion accessory. Although the mask isn’t designed to protect from the covid-19 virus, the masks intend to provide a fashionable and practical face covering for fans. Arax has been promoting the “mask = fashion” by encouraging people of Japan to wear masks in the current situation.  Having a significant response in Japan, Arax reached out to PSG in order to collaborate for a further reach beyond the country.

Speaking of the partnership, Yoshiyasu Arakawa, Vice President and Representative Director of Arax is confident that the deal with PSG would enable them to gain fame worldwide.

“By signing this contract with Paris Saint-Germain, a club that has over 100 million followers on social networks worldwide we are encouraging people all over the world to wear our masks as a fashion item,” and talked about promoting the value of masks and their possibilities.

Sébastien Wasels, Managing Director of the Asia Pacific at Paris Saint-Germain, expressed his excitement upon having a new Japanese partner that will further help them to establish themselves in Japan, following their recent launch of stores, digital platforms, and fan events all over the Asian country.

Marc Armstrong, Chief Partnerships Officer at Paris Saint-Germain, also commented on the development by saying: “As masks have become an important part of our everyday lives, it is great for us to be able to enter into such a partnership. We are also excited to help Pitta Mask’s global launch, and we believe this partnership is a win-win for both the brand and the club.”
