The Professional Game Match Officials (PGMO) has announced a partnership with Huws Gray Group, a leading UK building materials and solutions supplier.
The Huws Gray logo will be featured on the matchday and training kits of referees, assistant referees, and VAR officials throughout all English professional football matches, comprising the men’s Premier League, Premier League 2, Premier League Cup, Premier League International Cup, EFL Championship, EFL League 1 & 2, League Cup, EFL Trophy, FA Cup, Community Shield, National League, National League Cup, and Women’s Super League 1.
Last year, 40 million spectators attended live events, and nearly 900 million people saw the 168 teams compete in 1,900 games. This year’s audience is predicted to exceed one billion, and with England’s women’s team’s recent Euros victory, women’s football has never been more popular.
Huws Gray Group is also undergoing a rebranding initiative to reflect a renewed focus to the customer experience and building better. The refreshed Huws Gray brand links businesses across the Group, and improved graphics, signs, uniforms, fleet, and online presence will be implemented in the following weeks and months.
The Huws Gray-branded uniform has made its Championship debut on Friday, August 8, against Birmingham City and Ipswich Town. It will also be used in this weekend’s Community Shield encounter at Wembley Stadium between Crystal Palace and Liverpool.
Daksh Gupta, CEO, Huws Gray Group, commented, “We are incredibly proud to announce our sponsorship of PGMO. This partnership is built on shared values of fairness, integrity, expertise, and professionalism – principles that resonate deeply with both organisations and the wider football community. We know that over 83% of our customers follow football and that’s why we have strategically aligned ourselves behind the sport.
“The partnership with PGMO gives us an exciting opportunity to reach new and existing customers through football, whilst retaining neutrality and not showing bias towards a particular team. It also underscores our ambition to grow our presence and compete at the highest level. We are also delighted that the sponsorship covers both the men’s and women’s competitions, especially given the incredible success of our Lionesses. This also aligns with our commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion, both at Huws Gray and in the wider sector.”
Howard Webb, Chief Refereeing Officer of PGMO, said, “We’re delighted to welcome Huws Gray as our new sleeve partner. It’s great to be working with an organisation that values the important role of match officials in the game and shares our commitment to professionalism and excellence. We look forward to a successful collaboration with the Huws Gray team throughout the season ahead.”
