The flagship product of the National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI), RuPay has joined hands with the Prime Volleyball League, as their official title sponsor. The first of its kind global card payment from India has penned down a three-year deal with the latest franchise volleyball league, which is reported to start from early 2022.
The Prime Volleyball League will consist of seven different franchises from seven different cities, Calicut Heroes, Kochi Blue Spikers, Ahmedabad Defenders, Hyderabad Black Hawks, Chennai Blitz, Bengaluru Torpedoes, and Kolkata Thunderbolts.
While the tournament will be wrapped up in 24 games, but the schedule for the fixtures is yet to be released by the organizers. However, the date for the player auction has been revealed, which is scheduled to take place on December 14.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajeeth Pillai, chief relationship management and marketing, NPCI said: “We are absolutely delighted to associate with the Prime Volleyball League as the title sponsor for three years. The media rights of the Prime Volleyball league have been secured by Sony Pictures Network. While the league will be exclusively marketed by Baseline Ventures, which is labelled as the leading sports marketing firm in India. Lastly, A23, the digital rummy platform has penned down a multi-year deal as the “powered by” sponsor.
