The Premier League clubs, Aston Villa, Hull City and Leeds United, have each strengthened their commercial portfolios by announcing long-term partnership renewals, reaffirming relationships across the sports betting, aviation and media sectors ahead of the 2026-27 season.
While each agreement serves a different commercial objective, the announcements collectively reflect how Premier League clubs are increasingly prioritising long-term strategic partnerships that extend beyond traditional sponsorship rights. From adapting to new regulatory changes and expanding international brand visibility to deepening fan engagement through trusted media platforms, the latest deals underscore the evolving nature of football’s commercial landscape.
Aston Villa have extended their partnership with Kaizen Gaming, with the operator’s flagship sports betting brand, Betano, set to become the club’s official sleeve partner under a new three-year agreement running until the end of the 2028-29 season.
The renewed partnership follows two successful years in which Betano served as Aston Villa’s principal partner. Under the revised agreement, the brand’s logo will move from the front of the shirt to the sleeve, aligning with the Premier League’s voluntary ban on front-of-shirt gambling sponsorships that comes into effect from the 2026-27 campaign.
The extension follows a landmark period for Aston Villa both on and off the pitch. Since the partnership began in 2024, the club has returned to the UEFA Champions League before securing the 2025-26 UEFA Europa League title, while Betano has significantly expanded its global sponsorship portfolio through partnerships across football and other major sporting events.
Julio Iglesias, Chief Commercial Officer at Kaizen Gaming, said, “Our first two years with Aston Villa have been nothing short of extraordinary. We entered this partnership with total respect for this club’s immense heritage, and it has been a privilege to stand next to the team and its global fanbase during a historic period of success, culminating in winning the UEFA Europa League. Beyond football, Aston Villa is an organisation that deeply cares for its community, and we are happy to support them. All in all, this partnership has been a natural fit, built around shared ambition, values and trust.”
Meanwhile, newly-promoted Premier League side Hull City have renewed their long-standing partnership with Corendon Airlines, extending one of the club’s most recognisable commercial relationships for a further three years.
Corendon has been closely associated with the Tigers since Turkish entrepreneur Acun Ilıcalı acquired the club in 2022, becoming a prominent commercial partner while supporting the club’s travel operations. The collaboration has gained international recognition through the airline’s specially branded Hull City aircraft, serving as a distinctive marketing asset that has enhanced the club’s visibility across Europe and key tourism markets.
The renewed agreement ensures Corendon Airlines will continue to receive branding and promotional rights as Hull City prepare for their return to the Premier League, providing continuity for one of the club’s most established commercial alliances.
Yıldıray Karaer, Chairman of the Board of Corendon Airlines, said, “We are delighted to extend our partnership with Hull City for another three years. Since the beginning of our collaboration in 2022, we have built far more than a sponsorship; we have established a strong relationship based on shared values, trust and a common vision for success.
“At Corendon Airlines, we see sport as a powerful way to connect people and communities across borders. We are proud to continue supporting Hull City on its journey while strengthening the global visibility of the Corendon brand. We also look forward to creating more memorable experiences for the club’s loyal supporters and writing many more success stories together in the years ahead.”
Elsewhere, Leeds United have reinforced their long-standing relationship with BBC Radio Leeds by signing a new five-year broadcasting agreement that will keep the regional broadcaster as the club’s official local radio commentary partner until the conclusion of the 2030-31 season.
The deal guarantees live commentary of every Leeds United fixture across league and cup competitions, alongside exclusive interviews and comprehensive matchday programming available via BBC Radio Leeds and BBC Sounds. The agreement also ensures lead commentator Adam Pope and the station’s established team of analysts will continue delivering coverage to supporters throughout the next five seasons.
BBC Radio Leeds Sports Editor, Jonny Buchan, said, “We’re delighted to extend our partnership with Leeds United for another five years, ensuring BBC Radio Leeds remains the home of live commentary for supporters across West Yorkshire and beyond. This agreement reflects our shared commitment to bringing fans comprehensive, high-quality coverage of every home and away game, with trusted commentary and analysis at the heart of everything we do. We look forward to continuing to tell the story of Leeds United, celebrating the highs, sharing the big moments, and being there for supporters every step of the way.”
Although spanning three different sectors, the agreements illustrate the diverse commercial strategies being adopted across the Premier League. Aston Villa have proactively evolved a major betting partnership in response to incoming sponsorship regulations, Hull City continue to leverage an international aviation brand to enhance their global commercial footprint following promotion, while Leeds United have secured long-term continuity in a media partnership that remains central to supporter engagement.
As football clubs increasingly seek value beyond conventional sponsorship assets, partnerships centred on regulatory adaptability, international brand exposure and fan-focused media distribution are becoming integral to sustaining commercial growth in the modern game.
