Premier League: Norwich City signs a new kit sponsorship deal with Joma

Under this agreement, Joma is expected to provide match kits, training and travel gear for all teams of the club, including men’s first team, women’s team and all the other academy teams.

Norwich City, a club based out of Carrow Road, recently announced a landmark sponsorship deal in its sports business history. The club agreed to join hands with the Spanish sports clothing manufacturer, Joma, as part of a ‘record-breaking’ kit sponsorship.

Earlier, Norwich City had acquired the services of Errea for a decade as their kit sponsor. The deal with Joma is expected to be an upgrade on it. Under this agreement, Joma is expected to provide match kits, training and travel gear for all teams of the club, including men’s first team, women’s team and all the other academy teams.

The agreement is not only strictly based on kit sponsorship, but Joma will also aim to collaborate with Community Sports Foundation, Norwich City’s official charity partner. This partnership will see both parties undertake major outreach initiatives to expand the reach of the club’s values and accessories. The target is to grow the brand of the club in the wider Norfolk region.

Speaking on this landmark partnership, Sam Jefferey, Norwich City’s Head of Commercial Operations, said, “This is a partnership we have been working on for a very long time and we’re delighted to be starting this new agreement with Joma. When we took the decision to survey the market, we met every supplier with four key objectives we wanted to achieve: complete creative control of design, an outstanding commercial agreement in line with our self-financed model, a brand with a firm track record within football, and a partner who wanted to support the wider Norfolk community. We met every brand and Joma were by a long way the standout – we’re thrilled to be working with them.”

This is not the first time Joma has got associated with a football club. Joma already has agreements in place with multiple European clubs like Villarreal, Atalanta, Hoffenheim, amongst others. It extends its sponsorship to national teams like Ukraine as well. Joma provides its services in more than 100 countries across the planet and therefore is a well established and admired brand.

On this occasion, the General Director of Joma Sport, Alberto Lopez, added, “The collaboration with a team such as Norwich City is very inspiring for us. We have already developed a strong working relationship in a short period of time, and I am convinced that, together, we will be even stronger. Joma is firmly committed to quality and design and now we will be fully focused on providing the highest standards of service to Norwich City Football Club.”

Earlier this week, Norwich City has named Lotus Cars as their new front-of-shirt sponsor for the 2021-22 season. Lotus was reportedly considered a front runner for the role in the wake of the sudden exit of betting operator BK8 just three days after its announcement as the principal partner.

This upcoming season for Norwich City is a crucial one, after having just moved their way back up to the PL. The club with new sponsors and fresh feelings would like to give their fans a great lot of joy and a successful season ahead.
