Premier League extends US television deal with NBC sports

The new arrangement will take NBC Sports to extend its collaboration with the Premier League into the 15th year.

The English top-flight, Premier League has announced an extension of six years with NBC and will be in contract until 2028 in the US as the official broadcast partner. The deal will include NBC Sports telecast all 380 Premier League matches every season. Apart from the US, they also have the rights to broadcast in the Spanish language.

The new arrangement will take NBC Sports to extend its collaboration with the Premier League into the 15th year. The first contract was signed back in 2013.

The official amount of the association wasn’t disclosed by NBC but it is said to be around worth over $2 billion, as per sources.

The games will be aired on NBC, USA Network, Telemundo, the company’s Peacock streaming service and other platforms.

Richard Masters, the Premier League’s chief executive, said, “We are delighted to announce our new US broadcast deal with NBC Sports, who have been brilliant partners for the Premier League over the last nine seasons.

“NBC Sports has significantly strengthened the popularity of the league in the United States in that time through its fantastic coverage and promotion.

“It’s an exciting time for football in the US and we look forward to continuing to work with NBC Sports to bring our competition to even more fans over the next six years.”

Pete Bevacqua, NBC Sports’ chair, said, “This new agreement is also a testament to the hard work of production, marketing and other areas of our company, as well as the tremendous partnership that has been established with the leadership and club owners of the Premier League.”
