U Mumba lifted their maiden title in season two after beating Bengaluru Bulls in the final.

U Mumba is a kabaddi franchise that represents the city of Mumbai in the marquee Indian kabaddi competition, Pro Kabaddi League. The franchise was founded in 2014 and is owned by Ronnie Screwvala who leads the Unilazer Ventures Pvt. Ltd. U Mumba plays its home matches at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Indoor Stadium, Mumbai.

U Mumba has been associated with the PKL since its inception and is one of the successful teams as the franchise lifted its maiden title in season two after beating Bengaluru Bulls in the final. 

The Mumbai-based franchise has finished as a runner-up thrice. In the last season, which concluded back in 2019, U-Mumba finished fourth in the table and qualified for the semi-final stage, but the team was defeated by the eventual champions, Bengal Warriors.

At first, U Mumba roped in the Japanese audio and video equipment manufacturer, Sansui as its official Title Sponsor for PKL season eight. The Mumbai-based franchise promotes the brand by placing its logo in front of the player jersey.

Moving forward, the Indian mobile phone and television manufacturing company, Karbonn has been signed as an Associate Sponsor and one of the back sponsors of U Mumba.

One of India’s leading innerwear brands for men, MACHO HINT has been onboarded as a Powered by Sponsor. Herbalife Nutrition has penned down a partnership for being the official Nutrition Partner and taking care of all the nutrition and fitness need of the side.

The online higher education platform, upGrad joined forces with U Mumba and has been labelled as the official Knowledge Partner, with also being a sleeve sponsor. The Mumbai-based franchise announced an association with the world’s famous sportswear and accessories brand, Puma, with both the entities organizing a superfan contest to reward the U Mumba fans. Lastly, India’s leading bathroom accessories brand, Prayag has been signed as an Associate Sponsor.

U Mumba will be facing Patna Pirates in its next PKL fixture on January 11 at 7:30 PM IST. The Mumbai-based franchise is currently sitting fourth in the table, collecting 25 points from the last seven fixtures.
