The Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) side, Puneri Paltan have inked a sponsorship renewal with the Indian wing of the German multinational entity, STIHL India.
With the renewal, STIHL India will remain the side’s co-partner for the upcoming PKL season.
The side utilised their social media handles to inform about the extension, with the caption, “𝙎𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙜𝙩𝙝 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙗𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙠𝙨 𝙗𝙖𝙧𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝙋𝙧𝙚𝙘𝙞𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙙𝙚𝙛𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙨 𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙢𝙥𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨. STIHL, a German company, manufactures portable power equipment including trimmers and blowers, as well as chainsaws. The company’s headquarters are located in Waiblingen, Baden-Württemberg, not far from Stuttgart, Germany. STIHL was founded in 1926 by Andreas STIHL, a pioneer in the early chainsaw manufacturing industry.
Under the expanded relationship, the STIHL emblem is prominently displayed on the right sleeve of the Puneri Paltan playing shirt, ensuring significant brand awareness during the PKL season. The existence of STIHL on the jersey for several years demonstrates the brand’s long-term dedication to Indian kabaddi.
By partnering with Puneri Paltan, STIHL India connects with the enthusiasm and rising popularity of kabaddi, leveraging the platform to increase its recognition in the Indian market. This ongoing cooperation exemplifies how multinational businesses are using local sports leagues to broaden their reach.
Puneri Paltan enters PKL Season 12 with a well-balanced lineup that includes a retained core of Aslam Inamdar, Mohit Goyat, Gaurav Khatri, Abinesh Nadarajan, and Pankaj Mohite, as well as marquee addition Sachin Tanwar and experienced players Vishal Bhardwaj and Mohammad Nabibakhsh. With a formidable raiding unit, a rock-solid defensive, and extra depth from young and international players, the Paltans appear poised to begin a successful championship defence and stay among the top contenders this season.
