In a move that blends athletic intensity with nutritional innovation, RiteBite Max Protein, India’s leading functional-snacking brand from Naturell India Pvt. Ltd., has signed on as the official protein snacking partner of U Mumba for Season 12 of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL).
With PKL set to return on August 29, 2025, this partnership adds a health-first dimension to U Mumba’s campaign in what promises to be the league’s most competitive edition yet.
Kabaddi is a sport defined by power, endurance, and resilience, qualities that align seamlessly with RiteBite’s philosophy of fueling active lifestyles. Through this association, the brand aims to energize not just the players but also millions of fans with convenient and nutritious snacking solutions.
The RiteBite partnership isn’t just about logos and branding, it represents a broader shift in Indian sport where nutrition, performance, and fan culture are converging. For RiteBite, the deal opens doors to deeper engagement with health-conscious audiences. For U Mumba, it’s another step toward building a holistic high-performance environment.
The news with Max Protein came ahead of the new jersey launch event in Mumbai. U Mumba presented a Season 12 jersey based on the famous Season 2 championship kit. The design adheres to the team’s orange-and-black identity while incorporating modern features, such as a nod to Mumbai Airport, which represents a bridge between previous successes and future objectives.
U Mumba Owner, Ronnie Screwvala, said, “The Season 2 championship was a breakthrough. It validated the commercial and cultural potential of kabaddi at a national scale. For us at U Mumba, it underlined the importance of building professional structures, investing in people and approaching sport with the same rigor as any other business. It was one of the most memorable runs in the League’s history and a decade later, that win still shapes our approach: sustainable growth, long-term value creation and leaving behind a legacy that goes beyond trophies.”
Suhail Chandhok, CEO, U Mumba, said, “To be in the commentary box on that unforgettable night in 2015 when U Mumba were crowned champions was a truly special moment. To have life come full circle and now lead this franchise as CEO a decade later, makes this milestone even more meaningful. U Mumba’s story has always been defined by resilience, passion, grooming homegrown talent and the bond with our fans. But this is not just about honoring the past, it’s about preparing for what’s next. From advanced physical preparation to a squad that mixes proven leaders like Sunil Kumar with rising stars such as Ajit Chouhan, Rohit Raghav, Lokesh Ghosliya and Anil Jasta, Season 12 is a statement of intent. We’re ready to chase new milestones.”
A decade after their historic title victory, U Mumba returns for Season 12 with a sharper edge, combining developing talent with established names. Beyond winning, the squad is establishing an identity based on discipline, health, and long-term progress, with the goal of staying ahead in a league that is more competitive than ever.
The franchise welcomes back Anil Chaprana, now elevated to head coach, after his crucial role in last year’s playoff run as assistant coach. The defensive core remains intact with captain Sunil Kumar, alongside attackers Ajit Chouhan and Satish Kannan, supported by stalwarts Deepak Kundu, Lokesh Ghosliya, Mukilan Shanmugam, and Amir Mohammad Zafardanesh. The big splash from the auction is the acquisition of Aanil Mohan, an all-rounder snapped up for INR 78 lakh—a record for a Category-D player. His versatility adds fresh tactical depth and underscores U Mumba’s aggressive strategy heading into Season 12.
With expectations running high, U Mumba will kick off their campaign against Gujarat Giants on August 30. For players, fans, and brand partners alike, the season represents not just competition—but the start of a new era where sport and lifestyle move in sync.
