The Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) side, U Mumba, have renewed their strategic partnership with Prayag, one of India’s leading sanitaryware brands, as an associate partner for Season 12.
The tie-up was announced ahead of the league’s return on August 29, 2025, with Prayag securing brand visibility across team jerseys, in-stadium assets, and digital platforms. For the brand, it marks another step in building a strong sports sponsorship portfolio that already includes associations with Lucknow Super Giants (IPL), Bengaluru SG Mavericks (TPL), and the Kerala Cricket League.
The upcoming campaign carries symbolic weight for U Mumba. The franchise recently unveiled a retro-inspired jersey to mark the 10th anniversary of its 2015 championship triumph. On the sidelines, the franchise confirmed the elevation of Anil Chaprana as head coach after his strong showing as assistant last season. U Mumba have retained their defensive leadership under captain Sunil Kumar, with attacking firepower from Ajit Chouhan and Satish Kannan. Key names such as Deepak Kundu, Lokesh Ghosliya, Mukilan Shanmugam, and Iranian star Amir Mohammad Zafardanesh provide depth and experience.
The team also made headlines at the auction by signing all-rounder Aanil Mohan for ₹78 lakh, the highest ever paid for a Category-D player in PKL history. His versatility adds fresh tactical options to the squad.
Adding to their commercial roster, U Mumba have also roped in RiteBite Max Protein as a partner for Season 12.
The team from Mumbai begins its campaign on August 30 against Gujarat Giants. With commercial partnerships deepening and fan expectations soaring, the new season represents more than just kabaddi; it is a showcase of how Indian sport continues to merge athletic competition with lifestyle, business, and culture.
The Prayag-U Mumba partnership underscores the PKL’s growing stature as a sponsorship magnet, attracting marquee brands eager to tap into one of India’s fastest-growing sports properties.
