The PGA Tour has announced an extension of its partnership with Sentry Insurance for the Tournament of Champions in Hawaii through 2035.
The accord stretches a 10-year alliance that was announced in 2020, making it one of the lengthiest sponsorship deals currently in place.
The purse for next year will increase to $15 million from $8.2 million in 2022, and the 2024 occasion will label the official launch of the PGA Tour season as the tour transitions away from the wraparound schedule.
The PGA Tour also revealed that instead of just tournament winners, the top 30 in the preceding year’s FedExCup leaderboard will be able to sign up for the event in the future. The tour also made this change the year after the pandemic, with Harris English winning the tournament despite not having won a championship the previous year.
