Peshawar Zalmi inks partnership with MG Motors

The Peshawar-based franchise announced the collaboration on its official social media handles.

The Pakistan Super League (PSL) team, Peshawar Zalmi has announced a new partnership with the British automotive company, MG Motors. With this new deal, the car brand has been named as the official automobile partner of the 2017 champions of the tournament.

The Peshawar-based franchise announced the collaboration on its official social media handles. The post said, “Announcing @mgmotorpakistan as Peshawar Zalmi’s Official Automobile Partner for #HBLPSL7.”

MG is a British automotive entity founded in the 1920s by Cecil Kimber. SAIC Motor Corporation Limited, a state-owned Chinese company, now owns the automotive company. MG is one of the leading car brands, with a product line that includes hatchbacks, sedans, and SUVs.

The British company entered Pakistan through a collaboration with JW Motors and SAIC and launched the MG HS crossover to compete in the country’s growing SUV segment. The company’s arrival was hyped, primarily by Javed Afridi, a key stakeholder in MG Motors Pakistan.

Recently, Peshawar Zalmi has inked a partnership with the radio station, FM 91. The franchise also extended its collaboration with Haier as the title sponsor and Red Bull as an energy drink partner. In addition, Mahira Khan, the Pakistani actress, has been named brand ambassador.

The Peshawar-based team will commence its PSL journey on Friday against the 2019 champions, Quetta Gladiators.
