Penta Esports, Loco collaborate to launch ‘Penta Collegiate League’

Gamers will battle in VALORANT and Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) in the maiden season.

Penta Esports, an Indian esports competition platform, has signed a collaboration with Loco, a streaming portal. The two firms will collaborate to develop the Penta Collegiate League, a fresh Indian e-sports tournament for colleges and institutions, as a part of the agreement.

Leverage Edu and GOqii, an Indian fitness technology enterprise, have joined the platform as Penta Collegiate League partners as well. GOQii will serve as the event’s healthcare companion, while Leverage Edu will serve as the ‘study overseas partner.’

Gamers will battle in VALORANT and Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) in the maiden season, with playoffs and championship games streamed solely on the Loco web application. Those who compete would get a chance to secure a scholarship worth ₹30,00,000 (£30,800).

Penta Esports’ Founder and CEO, Anurag Khurana, discussed the partnership by saying, “Our major focus is to provide opportunities to the budding esports athletes at the grassroots level. Esports is rapidly gaining popularity as a viable path for many and we want to provide a platform similar to conventional sports to aspiring esports athletes. The scholarship aims to help esports athletes in their endeavours.”

In India, collegiate esports has already had a period of rapid expansion that will last even after 2022. GoodGameNation, an esports platform, teamed up with Viral Fission, a youth networking platform, in April to host the region’s ‘biggest collegiate esports championship’.

Penta Esports, established in 2021 by Newgen Gaming, is a corporation that takes a comprehensive perspective on the esports industry. Penta Esports holds competitions on a regular basis for a variety of games, including Free Fire and BGMI.
