PCB signs sponsorship deal with Surf Excel

Pakistan Cricket Board and Unilever have further strengthened their partnership with Surf Excel becoming Pakistan national men’s cricket team’s official detergent partner for 2021. PCB and Unilever joined hands last year for a historic social awareness campaign with Lifebuoy around hygiene behaviour. The partnership then grew across domestic cricket and the men’s team.

This year covers a lot of cricket for the Pakistani team especially at home as they take on the likes of the West Indies, England, and New Zealand.

The PCB director, Babar Hamid said, “Our partners like Unilever are invaluable to us as their contributions go a long way in ensuring that we deliver top-quality domestic, international, and bilateral events. In recent days, we have overcome some big challenges to ensure that the Abu Dhabi-leg of the HBL Pakistan Super League 6 takes place.”

Hamid further insisted that the upcoming home assignments are crucial for the Pakistan cricket team to continue the improvement that has been witnessed in the last two years. He also admitted that PCB is also eager to deliver quality cricket series in home conditions to complement passion in Pakistani fans. PCB will emphasis on world-class performances on and off the pitch.

Unilever Marketing home and care director explained the reason behind this partnership and its success. The cricket team is the country’s pride and Unilever would like to partner with them as they spread their message, “daagh ache hai.”  He also emphasized the need to encourage the young cricketer to play his best game on the field and recognize their uninhibited cricket spirit.

This deal can be considered as a brilliant move by Unilever, which is looking to spread its message og using products used by all. Considering the effects of the pandemic and emphasis on personal hygiene, they have cashed in on the opportunity to make a difference across the country and the world.
