The Summer Games 2024, officially known as the Games of the XXXIII Olympiad and branded as Paris 2024 Olympics, kicked off on July 26, 2024, with an enthralling opening ceremony, that united the globe for a spectacular two weeks filled with 329 events over 32 sports.
The Games presents an excellent opportunity for big businesses, similar to other major events this year, be it EURO 2024, ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 and even Copa America 2024.
This athletic event, which takes place every four years, will go on until August 11, drawing millions of spectators and providing the ideal platform for hundreds of businesses to connect with sports fans.
The present political situation in France contrasts sharply with the global message that the Olympic Games will portray during the following two weeks. Despite typical French scepticism, enthusiasm is building throughout the world, and there is no reason why the celebration of sports cannot be flawlessly and securely organised.
Over 10,500 competitors from 206 National Olympic Committees, and the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Refugee Olympic Team will compete in 329 events in 32 sports in Paris.
Data from the IOC shows that its overall income for 2021 was $4.161 billion. Of this total, $835 million (30%) came from the TOP sponsorship initiative. This time, the organisers of Paris 2024 anticipate earning around $1.3 billion in sponsorship, including from 60 domestic brands.
