Paralympics Australia, Mizuno partnership to grow beyond Paris 2024

Continuing its cherished collaboration with Paralympics Australia, Mizuno will debut its custom shoe design for the Australian Paralympic Team later this year.

Paralympics Australia has announced a sponsorship extension agreement with the renowned leading Japanese sporting goods brand, Mizuno.

Continuing its cherished collaboration with Paralympics Australia, Mizuno will debut its custom shoe design for the Australian Paralympic Team later this year.

In the run-up to Tokyo 2020, Mizuno partnered with Australia’s top Paralympians as their official sports shoe supplier, and the new arrangement will continue the partnership beyond Paris 2024.

The Mizuno sport uniform footwear will be worn by 400 athletes and staff members during the Paris Games, which begin in 447 days.

The Australian Paralympic Team’s official uniform, which has included Rheanna Lotter’s artwork “The Journey,” an Aboriginal artist and Yuin woman, since the Rio 2016 Games, served as inspiration for the footwear, which will be specially made to match the team’s colours.

Paralympics Australia, Chief Executive, Catherine Clark, said, “It’s wonderful to have Mizuno join us on the journey to Paris 2024 after we established our partnership in 2019. Our organisations share a similar view that sport has the power to improve lives and bring people together and I know our athletes and staff will wear their Mizuno gear at the Games with immense pride and gratitude.”

Mizuno Australia’s Director of Sales and Marketing, Shane Holub, said, “We were thrilled when we first came on board in the lead up to Tokyo 2020. To be able to re-sign for the upcoming Games solidifies our commitment to the Australian Paralympic Team and the Paralympic movement. The custom designed shoe is a welcome addition to the partnership.

We’ve done a lot of work behind the scenes and have worked closely with the Paralympics Australia team to put together a shoe design that we know the athletes will enjoy and feel proud wearing. We can’t wait to share it with the Australian public.”
