PadelPark India secures funding from Parth Jindal to elevate padel sports in India

The global padel industry is presently valued at more than $2.2 billion, with over 25 million players in more than 110 nations.

PadelPark India, India’s ecosystem and market leader for the sport of padel, has announced a new round of funding headed by Mr Parth Jindal, Founder of JSW Sports and Inspire Institute of Sport (IIS).

Padel is a racquet sport that originated in Mexico. Over the last few years, the sport has seen a considerable increase in popularity in Europe, as well as a worldwide surge. The sport’s quick expansion is clearly seen in the number of courts globally, which increased from approximately 10,000 in 2016 to more than 50,000 in 2024 and is expected to reach around 60,000 by 2026. In the past year alone, almost 2500 padel clubs have opened around the world.

The global padel industry is presently valued at more than $2.2 billion, with over 25 million players in more than 110 nations, and is expected to expand at a 22% annual pace, achieving $6.6 billion by 2026. Key drivers of this rise include increased interest in sports, the attractiveness of attempting new activities, promotions from well-known public figures, and an increase in the number of international events. With 23% of India’s population regularly engaged in sports, the country represents a major market opportunity for padel, with 232 million prospective players.

Parth Jindal, Founder of JSW Sports & IIS, said, “PadelPark is building an ecosystem for the sport of Padel in the country, ranging from establishing the necessary infrastructure to creating a coach and student education program to establishing a robust tournament framework. The Founders’ vision of expanding access through innovation and community building aligns perfectly with our own vision of transforming India into a sporting nation. Padel is a fast-growing global sport that I have no doubt will become an Olympic sport in the future and I am excited to work with the PadelPark team to increase the popularity of the sport in India.”

Ronak Daftary, Co-founder, PadelPark, said, “We are excited to have Parth & his team on board with us and share his vision of making India the largest producer and distributor of Padel courts in the world. We firmly believe that Parth is the right person to help regulate the sport in India.”

PadelPark India, situated in Mumbai and self-funded since its founding in 2020, is devoted to guiding the development of Padel infrastructure in India and Asia via strategic cooperation with Sky Padel, a renowned Spanish organisation. The corporation also runs the Indian Padel Academy, which provides instruction and training at both the grassroots and expert levels, allowing players in India to take on at the international level.

PadelPark’s co-founders, Ronak Daftary, Jigar Doshi, Nikhil Sachdev, and Pratik Doshi, have vast experience managing sports infrastructure and a strong desire to promote sports adoption throughout India.

PadelPark India now maintains 11 padel courts in Mumbai and has built more than 22 courts for sports clubs, hotels, resorts, and corporations. Some of its famous clientele include the Willingdon Sports Club, NSCI Club, JSW Inspire Institute of Sport, Marriot Suites, and many others. Given its expansion strategy, PadelPark India intends to open over 100 Padel clubs throughout the country over the next few years, using a combination of its own and franchise-run centres.

The new funds will be used to expand the infrastructure and enhance the services of their academy and events. Moreover, PadelPark India plans to build 40 padel courts in the next three months, construct 15 padel centres/clubs in the next 60 days, and train 250 individuals starting next month.
