OTT platforms compete for streaming rights of Poker Sports League

After two successful on-ground events of the Poker Sports League (PSL), Amit Burman, founder of Mind Sports League, is set to go ahead with plans for another season. Poker Sports League Season 3 is supposed to be a virtual charity event. PSL is the only Poker league contested in India. The company is in talks with various OTT platforms for the streaming rights of the League. Platforms such as Reliance JioTV, Disney+ Hotstar, MX Player, and Voot are in advanced talks with Burman.

Poker Sports League was inaugurated in 2016. In pre-corona times, a PSL season used to be a five-day tournament where various Poker enthusiasts gathered, where the presenters broadcasted the league live on the Facebook page. However, the third season is supposed to be a game-changer.

The league finished online qualifiers on November 22, and they have shortlisted the top 80 players. These 80 players would be drafted into eight teams during the first week of December. The team owners would get a month to create boot camps and set the team before the mega event in the first week of January.

Earlier, this month, Poker Sports League retained Kaizzen PR Services as the PR mandate for the third season of the league. As per the mandate, Kaizzen would be providing strategic communications support to the league, covering corporate reputation management, brand visibility, and crisis management across all media platforms.

Mind Sports League is valued at Rs 40 crores with majority shares of Amit Burman. Anuj Gupta, founder of poker portal Adda52.com, was also a founding member of the PSL.
