OneFootball recently declared German Football Association (DFB), Borussia Dortmund (BVB) and Tottenham Hotspur as the company’s new shareholders, which will allow the teams to enter into a multi-faceted partnership with the Germany based football media platform.
The link-up with DFB makes it the first national federation to have a stake in the business. Through this collaboration, the football media house will work with players from the aforementioned clubs and German team such as Harry Kane, Marco Reus and Manuel Neuer to create a curated piece along with an exclusive editorial news. As a part of the deal, the teams will be able to increase its global audience reach by acquiring new fans due to the platform’s colossal 85 million monthly users that will also provide their insights through One Football’s user patterns.
Borussia Dortmund’s Managing Director Carsten Cramer explained how this “perfect platform” will play a crucial role in facilitating news to their large young fanbase who are always inquisitive to know the club’s whereabouts and whatnot.
Cramer said, “Partnering with OneFootball will provide our global fanbase with exciting club content and we look forward to working with the other shareholders to support the business in the years to come.”
Last year, OneFootball expanded its digital media portfolio by acquiring Dugout, allowing the latter’s club partners to become shareholders in the business. DFB, BVB and Spurs will join the list that includes Arsenal, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Juventus, Liverpool, Manchester City, Olympique de Marseille, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid.
Lucas von Cranach, Chief Executive and Founder of OneFootball, said, “I’m thrilled to welcome DFB, Borussia Dortmund and Tottenham Hotspur as new shareholders of OneFootball and look forward to exploring new opportunities together.”
Donna-Maria Cullen, Spurs’ Executive Director, approves of the constant strive of innovation by the company, and mentions about their partnership being essential for the club to extend their reach on an international level.
Enhancing its football partnerships further, OneFootball continues to look ahead to become ‘global football’s all-in-one multimedia portal’, delivering its users exclusive OTT streaming, highlights, behind-the-scenes and archive video content, news, scores and statistics.
