The National Basketball Association (NBA) and Zebra Valley have agreed to a multi-year content development partnership. Zebra Valley is the newly formed production company of the French football star, Kylian Mbappé.
Specific details of the partnership are not yet revealed at this moment, but NBA stated that the collaboration will seek to engage fans worldwide. The collaboration began during this week’s NBA Draft, which was held at New York’s Barclays Center, with Mbappé in attendance.
Mbappé is already associated with basketball via his club, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), which has a kit agreement with the Nike-owned brand Jordan. The NBA partnership for the 23-year-old was followed by the collaboration with the WME Sports agency and the announcement of Zebra Valley earlier this month. WME Sports will assist in creating live, scripted, and animated content for the production house.
Zebra Valley, based in Los Angeles, will focus on sports, music, art, technology, gaming, and youth culture. It will also provide a platform to young talents worldwide.
Mbappé said, “The strategic partnership between Zebra Valley and the NBA represents a significant step in bringing football and basketball fans together around premium content by telling stories that matter.
“We look forward to working with the NBA team to encourage dialogue among global communities and make cultural conversations more relevant.”
George Aivazoglou, the NBA’s Head of Fan Engagement and Direct-to-Consumer for Europe and the Middle East, added, “Drafting Kylian Mbappé into the NBA family speaks to the global appeal of NBA basketball and the convergence of the league, the global football community and popular culture.
“We look forward to working with Kylian and the Zebra Valley team to create unique, compelling content that will engage and inspire fans around the world.”
