National Women’s Soccer League signs association with CarMax

CarMax has also been named as the presenting sponsor of the NWSL Shield, which is awarded to the team with the best record at the end of the season.

The National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) has announced a new multi-year partnership with a leading American used car retailer, CarMax. Following this deal, CarMax has been labelled as the league’s official auto retailer.

CarMax has also been named as the presenting sponsor of the NWSL Shield, which is awarded to the team with the best record at the end of the season.

Furthermore, CarMax has devoted itself to expanding the bonus pool by two times that will be awarded to the NWSL Shield winning team. From $5,000, the bonus will now be $10,000 per player.

NWSL Commissioner, Jessica Berman, said, “This new collaboration is yet another indicator of the steadily increasing value of women’s sports around the world and a testament to CarMax’s enthusiasm towards achieving equity in sport. We’re excited to welcome a partner who shares both our passion for the game and a commitment to levelling the playing field for the remarkable athletes that call our league home.”

Besides this, CarMax has teamed up with NJ/NY Gotham FC as the right-sleeve partner and exclusive auto retailer. As part of the agreement, CarMax will be the presenting partner for the rest of Gotham FC’s 2022 season and the title sponsor of Women’s Empowerment Night on July 31.

Andrea Pagnanelli, Gotham FC Chief Business Officer, commented, “We’re beyond excited to welcome CarMax to the Gotham FC family. We look for partners who align with our purpose and companies that share our values. CarMax is dedicated to investing in women’s sports and I cannot wait to work together to give our players and fans the gameday experience they deserve.”

In April, CarMax signed a collaboration with the Major League Soccer (MLS) team, Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC).

Since 2020, CarMax has been the  National Basketball Association (NBA) and Women’s National Basketball Association‘s (WNBA) official auto retailer. Monumental Sports & Entertainment also inked a multi-year accord with CarMax in March, which covers the NBA side, Washington Wizards and the WNBA team, Washington Mystics.
