The professional ice hockey league, National Hockey League (NHL) has developed a multi-year extension of its US partnership with an armed forces bank, Navy Federal Credit Union.

With this renewal, the brand will remain the NHL’s official military appreciation partner. The alliance aims to recognise and assist veterans, active duty military members, and their families at NHL tentpole events, on television, and via the NHL’s digital and social platforms.

Navy Federal will continue to be the presenting sponsor of the NHL Veterans Appreciation Night doubleheader broadcast on Wednesday, November 13 on TNT, truTV, and Max, starring the Detroit Red Wings vs Pittsburgh Penguins at 7:30 PM ET and the Los Angeles Kings vs Colorado Avalanche at 10:30 PM.

As part of the extension, Navy Federal will remain the NHL Stadium Series’ title sponsor. Columbus Blue Jackets will face Detroit Red Wings in the 2025 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series on March 1, 2025, at 6 PM ET at Ohio Stadium in Columbus, Ohio, and will be broadcast on ESPN, SN360, SN+, SN NOW, and TVAS2. Navy Federal Credit Union will hold its Veterans Showcase in Columbus, Ohio, simultaneously with the 2025 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series, a one-of-a-kind military hockey event that honours military veterans from throughout the nation.

The NHL and Navy Federal will also continue NHL Stick Tap for contribution, a program that recognises and rewards extraordinary community contribution by hockey fans and military personnel.

Jason Jazayeri, NHL Vice President, Business Development, said, “We are delighted to extend our partnership with Navy Federal after many productive years of collaboration to support Active Duty military, Veterans and their families. We look forward to continuing to celebrate and honor members of the military community across some of our key tentpole moments throughout our partnership.”

Pam Piligian, Chief Marketing Officer at Navy Federal, commented, “For us, this partnership continues to be a natural, authentic fit. We’re like-minded organizations both in terms of the passion for hockey and shared values of community, service and integrity. We’re proud to create moments where we honor those who serve and form meaningful relationships in the spirit of military appreciation.”

Ticketmaster, the NHL’s official ticketing partner, is presently selling tickets for the 2025 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series. While supplies remain, tickets are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

During the arrangement, Navy Federal branding will also be included in other League assets, including tentpole events, internet and social media, and the NHL’s acclaimed Digitally Enhanced Dasherboards.
