The Australian cricket franchise, Melbourne Stars, have announced a new multi-year partnership with mycar Tyre & Auto.
The agreement has named the Australian automotive servicing company as the franchise’s official auto servicing and tyre partner from the 2026-27 season onwards.
Under the agreement, mycar Tyre & Auto has become an official major partner of both the Melbourne Stars’ Big Bash League (BBL) and Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) teams, further strengthening the company’s presence in Australian cricket through brand visibility, fan engagement and grassroots initiatives.
As part of the partnership, mycar’s branding will feature across the Stars’ playing and training apparel throughout the BBL and WBBL campaigns. The company will also receive extensive exposure through the club’s matchday activations, digital platforms and community programs, creating multiple touchpoints with cricket fans across Victoria and the wider Australian market.
A key feature of the collaboration is the launch of the Melbourne Stars mycar Cup, a new community cricket tournament designed for clubs and teams across Victoria. The competition aims to strengthen grassroots participation by offering local players and communities a direct connection with the Melbourne Stars, with the inaugural tournament culminating in a final at Junction Oval.
The initiative reflects both organisations’ shared commitment to growing participation at the grassroots level while creating meaningful engagement opportunities beyond the professional game.
Commenting on the partnership, Melbourne Stars General Manager, James Rosengarten, said, “We’re delighted to welcome mycar as Major Partner of the Melbourne Stars for the 2026/27 cricket season and beyond. mycar Tyre & Auto is a trusted national brand with a strong local presence, and this partnership will bring real value across the Stars’ match-day experience, digital channels and community cricket programs. The Melbourne Stars mycar Cup is a particularly exciting part of the partnership, giving community teams another opportunity to be part of the broader cricket pathway and connect with the Melbourne Stars.”
mycar Tyre & Auto Chief Customer Officer, Adele Coswello, added, “At mycar Tyre & Auto, our commitment to our customers extends well beyond tyres and vehicle servicing. We’re passionate about supporting the communities where our customers live, work and play, and partnering with the Melbourne Stars is a fantastic way to do just that. As a trusted Australian brand, we’re excited to support one of the Big Bash League’s most recognised teams while creating memorable experiences for cricket fans across the country through match days, community cricket and the Melbourne Stars mycar Cup”.
With 279 locations, mobile service vans and a workforce of more than 1,600 employees, mycar Tyre & Auto is one of Australia’s largest automotive servicing networks, offering scheduled servicing, tyre replacement, brakes, suspension, batteries and general mechanical repairs.
For the Melbourne Stars, the agreement further expands the club’s commercial portfolio ahead of the 2026-27 season while reinforcing the increasing value of franchise cricket as a platform for brands seeking year-round engagement through elite competition, fan experiences and community-driven initiatives.
