The Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games Organising Committee (LA28) has appointed Musco Lighting as its official sport presentation and broadcast lighting provider, adding another key infrastructure partner as preparations accelerate for the biggest sporting event ever staged in the United States.

The agreement will see Musco deliver advanced lighting solutions across LA28 competition venues, supporting both world-class broadcast production and immersive in-venue fan experiences. The partnership also extends to Team USA, further strengthening Musco’s role within the Olympic and Paralympic ecosystem ahead of the 2028 Games.

Under the deal, Musco will provide field-of-play lighting designed to meet the stringent requirements of global broadcasters while enhancing the visual spectacle of competition venues. The company will also deploy sports presentation and entertainment lighting systems aimed at elevating athlete introductions, medal ceremonies and live event experiences for spectators.

The partnership marks a homecoming of sorts for Musco, whose Olympic journey began at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games. More than four decades later, the company returns to the city as a key contributor to an event expected to attract billions of viewers worldwide.

Jeff Rogers, Chief Executive Officer of Musco Lighting, said, “Musco’s first involvement with lighting Olympic venues was the 1984 Games in Los Angeles. Forty-four years later, our team is enthused about the opportunity to partner with LA28 and Team USA.”

LA28 Chief Executive Officer Reynold Hoover added, “Musco Lighting has a storied history of bringing presentation excellence to fields of play in our city, dating back to the last time the Games came to town. We are excited to partner with Musco to ensure our venues shine brilliantly and deliver an unparalleled viewing experience.”

The appointment underscores the growing importance of lighting technology in modern sport, where broadcast quality, fan engagement and venue presentation are increasingly interconnected. Beyond illumination, advanced lighting systems now play a central role in creating premium content for television, streaming platforms and social media audiences.

For LA28, the deal further reinforces its strategy of leveraging private-sector expertise to deliver a commercially sustainable and technologically advanced Games. Musco joins a growing roster of partners supporting the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic vision, as Los Angeles continues to build the operational and commercial foundations for a landmark edition of the Games.
