Indian Premier League defending champions, Mumbai Indians, has launched a new feature to connect with the fans over Whatsapp. The IPL franchise has become the first team to use Whatsapp as a medium to interact and engage with their fans. The official Twitter handle of the Mumbai Indians made the announcement about their latest feature.
Mumbai Indians is one of the most successful franchises in IPL (claiming the title four-times). A lot of credit goes to the fans because MI Paltan has one of the largest fan base in the country.
The team is also known for its innovative and creative ideas to connect with the fans and make them a part of their family. Few days before, MI launched a new membership program exclusively for the fans which can be purchased from their website.
And now, MI declared that they’re available on Whatsapp, where people can connect with the franchise by just sending ‘Hi’ to Whatsapp no. 7977012345. The latest feature has been named ‘MI Buddy’ through which, the MI fans can get all the updates and insights of their favourite players.
It is very interesting to see how different teams are finding ways to interact and engage fans. On the similar lines, CSK is all set to launch a fan engagement in partnership with FanPlay IoT. Moreover, Star India is working closely with BCCI to incorporate new features on its live streaming platform – Hotstar and give users a wholesome new experience of IPL this year.
