Mumbai Indians continue to witness growth on the commercial pitch

Mumbai Indians' brand worth increased by 99% since 2009.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) outfit, Mumbai Indians (MI) have a brand value of $83 million, according to Brand Finance, a global brand assessment consultancy. The report states that Mumbai Indians have seen a 4% increase since 2021.

The five-time IPL champions have commercial collaborations with a variety of well-known and international companies, including DHL, Sporjo, TeamViewer, Strata, Cadbury Dairy Milk, and Slice. Mumbai Indians’ brand worth has increased by 99% since 2009, according to Brand Finance, and has virtually doubled over the years. The Mumbai-based team’s terrific run on the commercial pitch can be indirectly attributed to the franchise’s terrific performance on the field along with a robust sponsorship portfolio, which includes well-established companies that are not geographically limited.

The Reliance-backed IPL franchise already took its founding steps of diversifying by acquiring teams in domestic leagues across the globe. The team has acquired MI Cape Town and MI Emirates from the SA20 and International League T20, respectively.

Mumbai Indians have forged associations with like-minded companies, maximising value for both brands. Over 32 million people follow Mumbai Indians on social media at this time.

Remarkably, Mumbai Indians also stood out as the only brand to have had growth in 2020, unaffected by the global market slowdown and sponsors’ concerns about continuing to spend on sports as a result of the pandemic.
