MS Dhoni tops Celebrity endorsement list for IPL 2020

Former Indian skipper and current CSK skipper, MS Dhoni, has topped the Celebrity endorsement list for IPL 2020. Although CSK is struggling with its on-field performance, Dhoni still remains the hottest property for brands. He might have retired from international cricket, but he remains a big name for endorsements.

Indian Institute of Human Brands (IIHB) conducted a survey at the start of October to release the list of celebrities that have been racking up endorsement deals during IPL 2020.

Swiggy, Mahindra Thar, Upgrad, and Tata Altrox ranked highest amongst brands that did not use a celebrity.

Amongst the brands which used celebrity endorsement, Byju’s was the most spontaneously recalled. The title sponsors of IPL 2020, Dream11 was at number two. Dream11 campaign also features star Indian cricketers in a variety of ads, increasing the presence of the brand.

In terms of celebrity endorsers, MS Dhoni tops the list, followed by Virat Kohli. Akshay Kuman and Ayushman Khurana completed the top four list. It is interesting to note that there is an increase in the number of sports celebrity endorsements for IPL 2020 as compared to previous editions. In 2019, Aamir Khan was the top celebrity endorser during IPL.

MS Dhoni is currently associated with Dream11, Oppo, Association of Mutual Funds of India (AMFI), Khatabook, TVS, and Indigo paints. Dhoni also has the highest recall value as a celebrity in terms of brand association.
