MotoGP inks new long-term association with Fanatics

MotoGP will benefit from Fanatics' creative vertical commerce model, with Fanatics attaining exclusive global e-commerce rights.

MotoGP has announced a new long-term strategic collaboration with a leading provider of licensed sports merchandise and a global digital sports platform, Fanatics, to significantly enhance the shopping experience for MotoGP fans.

MotoGP will benefit from Fanatics’ creative vertical commerce model, with Fanatics attaining exclusive global e-commerce rights and the licence to create MotoGP apparel, expanding the range of merchandise available to fans around the world.

MotoGP was founded in 1949 and is the world’s first motor racing World Championship. The sport now greets legions of fans through the gates every year at the track and achieves nearly half a billion homes throughout more than 200 countries, resulting in a truly global fanbase.

The newly redesigned online MotoGP store, store.motogp.com gives those fans access to a new, technology-infused e-commerce forum powered by Fanatics’ industry-leading Cloud Commerce Platform. Because of the global nature of the MotoGP fanbase, Fanatics will launch the site in six languages: English, Spanish, Italian, French, German, and Japanese. MotoGP fans will benefit from a best-in-class shopping experience, whether they shop online or on mobile, with high-resolution product showcases, zero friction checkout, and the swiftest access to new product offerings.

Fanatics collaborates with over 900 of the world’s most recognisable and effective sporting organisations, such as the  World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), Major League Baseball (MLB), Aston Villa, Paris Saint-Germain and Formula 1, and has offices and distribution centres in thirteen nations.

Marc Saurina, Senior Director of Global Commercial Partnerships at Dorna Sports, said, “We’re delighted to partner with Fanatics to revolutionise the shopping experience for our fans around the world. The new store looks incredible and we look forward to working together on creating an even wider range of MotoGP merchandise, with something for every fan. With our sport enjoying such a global audience, Fanatics is the perfect partner for MotoGP thanks to their global presence and vast experience.”

Matthew Primack, Senior Vice-President of International Business Development at Fanatics, said, “We are proud to partner with MotoGP to help serve its passionate global fanbase. We’ll work closely with the great MotoGP team to create a comprehensive offering that will provide fans with the widest assortment of on-trend, quality merchandise. With our experience, global capabilities and passion to serve fans with the merchandise they want, when they want it, MotoGP fans will enjoy an assortment of quality products, wherever they are shopping in the world.”
