MLB forms association with Sportradar to boost club scouting capabilities

MLB and its 30 clubs will have access to unparalleled levels of player analysis, with event coverage increasing considerably from 3,300 to more than 20,000 games.

The professional US baseball tournament, Major League Baseball (MLB) has inked a new partnership with Sportradar, a global leader in sports betting and data solutions.

The agreement has been reached to give the league and its 30 teams unparalleled sports performance analysis of amateur baseball prospects through its Synergy Coaching and Scouting service.

The newly formed association will use Sportradar’s superior, patented technology to revolutionise player talent scouting, highlighting the company’s dedication to provide creative and game-changing solutions to the league.

Under the terms of the deal, MLB and its 30 clubs will have access to unparalleled levels of player analysis and insights, with event coverage increasing considerably from 3,300 to more than 20,000 games – a 600% increase. This comprises collegiate, international, professional partner leagues, and prominent amateur leagues like as the MLB Draft League, the Appalachian League, and MLB Develops events, as well as, for the first time, top high school events.

The Synergy Coaching and Scouting system is well positioned to meet MLB’s player assessment needs by leveraging Sportradar’s experience in absorbing and translating millions of data points from video into fine analytics, actionable insights, and dynamic visualisations. This, combined with Sportradar’s AI-powered sports performance technology, allows Synergy to offer unmatched, in-depth analysis of every player, play, and game situation, providing MLB and club scouts with the data and perspectives they require to streamline the evaluation process, guide draft decisions, and support the development of future MLB players.
