Minnesota Timberwolves forge multi-year jersey patch partnership with Sezzle

The multi-year agreement also names Sezzle as Minnesota Timberwolves' season presenting partner.

The National Basketball Association (NBA) team, Minnesota Timberwolves have developed a multi-year sponsorship deal with the local financial services company, Sezzle.

As part of the deal, the brand has been named the club’s new jersey patch sponsor.

The multi-year agreement also names the Minneapolis-based firm as the team’s season presenting partner, with responsibilities that include significant in-arena signage, in-game marketing, and community events.

The collaboration will additionally involve on-court advertising, concourse activations, and digital content for Minnesota Lynx of the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA).

WME Sports, which is owned by Endeavour and has a long history with the Timberwolves, arranged the arrangement.

Sezzle Co-founder and President, Paul Paradis, said, “We are thrilled to announce Sezzle as the official jersey patch partner for the Minnesota Timberwolves. This partnership holds special significance as both Sezzle and the Timberwolves are proud to call Minneapolis home. Just as the Timberwolves are reaching new heights on the court, Sezzle is achieving remarkable growth and success in the financial technology sector. Our shared commitment to innovation and community strengthens this collaboration, and we look forward to supporting our hometown team in this exciting journey!”

Timberwolves and Lynx COO, Ryan Tanke, commented, “With a shared commitment to strategic growth and transformation, as well as delivering best-in-class experiences, Sezzle is the perfect partner to prominently represent our organization and brand. As both our companies reach significant inflection points, this is a unique opportunity to team up with a purpose-driven financial tech company in our backyard to thoughtfully broaden our fan and consumer bases through the love of Timberwolves and Lynx basketball.”

Sezzle succeeds Aura, the identity protection company that sponsored the Timberwolves’ jersey patch for the previous three seasons. As per reports, this agreement is worth to be around $5 million per year.

The Sezzle jersey patch will make its first appearance during the franchise’s first preseason match against Los Angeles Lakers on October 4.
