The French football club, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) have announced a collaboration with the pop singer, Jay Chou for launching a metaverse art project.
Chou uploaded a teaser for the upcoming art project on Instagram. The video features PSG stars Lionel Messi and Neymar Jr and a preview of the club mascot that has been customized by Chou’s distinct design style.
Chou is one of the most famous Asian pop singers. Last year, he became one of the most streamed artists in numerous Asian countries on Spotify.
He has recently become quite famous in the art world with prominent collectors complimenting his work. In 2021, he sold his white-glove collection for $10.7 million at Sotheby’s. He wants to work with PSG this time to create a new type of metaverse art.
PSG predicts that their association with the Mandopop legend will expand their influence in Asia. Chou is also growing his European presence and may soon announce a concert at Parc des Princes, PSG’s stadium, which would make him the first Mandarin artist to perform at the iconic venue.
Chou has been associated with many charities during his career, helping poor youngsters. He is now working with PSG to promote awareness and funding for poor children through the PSG Endowment Fund.
