Mercedes F1 Team signs new partnership with Kingspan

The main aim of the company is to net-zero carbon manufacturing by 2030.

The Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team has announced the signing of a partnership with Kingspan, an international leader in cutting-edge, high-performance insulation and growing envelope solutions.

Kingspan will select a group that will work on sustainability for Formula One. The group that will be made will have to attract a wide range of expertise from diverse fields that will help the team to gain its objective of pioneering new lines and technologies for emissions reduction in motorsport.

The brand first started its sustainability programme (Net Zero Energy) back in 2011. Kingspan is now in the second year of its Planet Passionate sustainability programme.

The main aim of the company is to net-zero carbon manufacturing by 2030 and have a 50% reduction in the CO2 strength in its primary supply chain partners by 2030.

Team principal, Toto said, “We are delighted to welcome Kingspan to our team as both partner and president of our new sustainability working group. Finding a company whose carbon-reduction ambitions exactly match ours is a real opportunity for both partners. We are making good progress in transforming our company to operate more sustainably, but the ability to share skills, resources and inspiration with Kingspan through our new sustainability working group will help accelerate change and awareness within the company. our team, and we also hope in our sport“.

The same goal is followed by the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team, as even, they aim to reduce CO2 emissions in its operations by 50 per cent by 2022 and will work further on its ambitious targets to become a net-zero carbon manufacturing team.

The deal will also have Kingspan’s logo on the team’s cars in the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.

Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team will have Bottas and the seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton feature in the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix on December 5, where the latter will look to win another race at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit.
