The Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team has expanded its technology ecosystem after announcing a multi-year strategic partnership with cloud application and AI infrastructure company Vercel, reinforcing Formula 1‘s growing appeal as a platform for enterprise technology and AI innovation.
The collaboration will officially launch at the 2026 British Grand Prix, where Vercel branding will debut on the team’s race cars, before broadening across the organisation from the 2027 season. Beyond traditional sponsorship rights, the agreement combines commercial activation with a long-term technology collaboration to modernise Mercedes’ digital infrastructure. The partnership includes global branding rights, premium hospitality, customer engagement initiatives, executive networking opportunities and collaborative content creation.
As part of the agreement, Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS will migrate its digital platforms to Vercel’s infrastructure, enabling faster web performance, streamlined developer workflows and AI-powered digital experiences for fans, partners and customers. The collaboration reflects a broader shift across Formula 1, where sponsorship agreements are increasingly evolving into strategic technology partnerships that deliver tangible operational value alongside brand exposure.
Richard Sanders, Chief Commercial Officer of the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team, said, “Formula One is where every millisecond matters, every decision counts, and continuous innovation is fundamental to success, and Vercel shares that same philosophy. The Vercel platform is helping organisations around the world build faster, perform better and innovate with confidence. We are excited to welcome Vercel to the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team and look forward to building a partnership that delivers value both on and off the track.”
Vercel Founder and CEO Guillermo Rauch added, “Speed wins. It’s true on the track, and it’s true on the web. Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS is one of the fastest teams in world sport, and we’re proud to support a team that shares our obsession for engineering excellence and relentless optimisation.”
The agreement further strengthens Mercedes’ technology-focused commercial strategy, complementing existing collaborations with leading technology companies as the team continues to integrate cloud computing, AI and advanced digital tools across both its racing operations and fan engagement platforms.
The announcement also comes at a time when Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS is translating technological excellence into competitive success on the circuit. The team currently leads both the FIA Formula One World Constructors’ Championship and the Drivers’ Championship, underlining its status as the benchmark outfit on the 2026 grid. With momentum both on and off the track, the partnership with Vercel highlights how Formula 1’s leading teams are increasingly leveraging cutting-edge technology partnerships to drive competitive advantage, enhance digital capabilities and unlock new commercial opportunities beyond race weekends.
