McLaren Racing, a British Formula 1 team, has announced a multi-year partnership with Intel, which will serve as the official compute partner of the McLaren Mastercard Formula One Team and the Arrow McLaren IndyCar Team.

As part of the arrangement, Intel will become an official partner of the McLaren F1 Sim Racing Team.

The collaboration brings together two renowned companies seeking maximum performance: Intel’s semiconductor engineering leadership and McLaren Racing’s on-track experience and knowledge.

According to the deal, Intel will assist McLaren Racing in transforming massive amounts of data into useful insights via a secure, scalable processing base. This incorporates trackside edge computing, which enables real-time analytics and race-day decisions.

As part of the relationship, Intel branding will be visible on the McLaren Mastercard F1 Team vehicles beginning with the Montreal event next weekend. Branding will feature on one of the Arrow McLaren IndyCar Team cars during this year’s Freedom 250 in Washington, DC, and at the famous Indy 500 starting in 2027.

The McLaren F1 Sim Racing Team’s on-stage simulators will also have Intel branding for this month’s F1 Sim Racing World Championship final. Beginning with the 2027 season, Intel will appear on the team’s virtual livery.

Zak Brown, CEO, McLaren Racing, said, “Performance in IndyCar and Formula 1 racing is driven by technology, and partnering with Intel strengthens our ability to innovate at scale. Intel has already been an important part of our technology ecosystem, and their leadership in computing will play a critical role in how we design, build, and race our cars. We’re excited to deepen this relationship even further.”

Lip-Bu Tan, CEO, Intel, said, “Formula 1 racing and IndyCar are some of the ultimate proving grounds for high-performance computing. Intel is proud to be McLaren Racing’s compute partner, and to be part of a team that thrives on precision, speed, and innovation. Together, Intel and McLaren will push the boundaries of what’s possible, transforming data into competitive advantage at every turn.”
