The reigning Formula 1 Constructors’ Champions, McLaren Racing, have announced a multi-year extension of their strategic partnership with Dell Technologies, reinforcing a collaboration that has become central to the team’s competitive infrastructure.

Dell will continue as McLaren’s official technology partner, providing high-performance computing systems, advanced data storage, hybrid cloud solutions and cybersecurity capabilities that underpin both trackside execution and factory-based development.

Since the partnership began in 2018, Dell Technologies’ infrastructure has supported McLaren’s increasingly data-driven racing model. Modern Formula 1 cars generate vast streams of telemetry across every session, requiring immediate analysis to inform race strategy, car setup adjustments and performance simulations. Dell’s enterprise-grade servers, storage platforms and end-user devices enable rapid processing of this data between the circuit and the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking, ensuring operational continuity under intense time pressure.

Zak Brown, Chief Executive Officer, McLaren Racing, said, “Our work with Dell Technologies has become a natural part of how we operate as a Formula 1 team. Their support strengthens the way we work across the organisation, helping us stay agile and competitive in a sport where details matter. Extending this partnership reflects the confidence we have in what we can achieve together.”

Gerri Tunnel, Chief Marketing Officer, Dell Technologies, added, “The relationship between Dell Technologies and McLaren Racing showcases what’s possible when two organisations are dedicated to pushing boundaries. Dell’s solutions are a catalyst for human progress. With McLaren, we’re demonstrating how the combination of powerful technology and human ingenuity can deliver real competitive advantages in high-stakes environments – an approach that inspires innovation across industries worldwide.”

The renewed agreement further enhances McLaren’s hybrid cloud capabilities, enabling seamless integration between on-premise systems and cloud environments. This flexibility allows the team to scale computational workloads efficiently, particularly as simulation, digital modelling and software optimisation play a greater role under Formula 1’s cost cap and technical regulations.

Cybersecurity also remains a key pillar of the collaboration. With proprietary car designs, aerodynamic data and strategic models forming critical intellectual property, safeguarding digital assets is essential. Dell Technologies continues to support McLaren with solutions designed to protect sensitive information across its global operations.

Beyond operational integration, Dell branding will retain prominent visibility on McLaren’s race cars, team apparel and digital platforms, leveraging Formula 1’s expanding international reach.

The extension highlights the growing significance of technology partnerships in elite motorsport, where sustained success increasingly depends on computing power, secure infrastructure and the ability to translate data into performance gains.
