Top-flight English football club, Manchester City have announced that Nexen Tire will continue as their sleeve sponsor for the fourth consecutive season.
The deal will see Nexen retain rights towards the men’s first team’s playing and training kits, and the club’s esports team. In addition to that, the Korean tyre manufacturer’s sleeve sponsorship will also cover the Premier League club’s women’s team.
The financial terms of the multi-year partnership have not been disclosed, however, the original sleeve deal signed by the two entities back in 2017 was reported to be worth about UK£10 million per year.
Nexen first partnered with Manchester City in 2015 before becoming their first-ever sleeve sponsor ahead of the 2017/18 season. As per the new deal, the company will retain its branding inventory on the first team bus and across the Etihad Campus, including the Nexen Tire bridge, which connects the academy ground to the team’s Etihad Stadium.
The partnership will continue to focus on digital marketing campaigns, with a new content series to be launched over the coming months.
Ferran Soriano, CEO at City Football Group said,“We have been impressed by Nexen Tire’s ambition for creating exciting digital content campaigns, as well as sharing City’s passion for providing young people around the world with opportunities to play the sport that they love. Nexen Tire has grown with us to be part of the fabric of Manchester City and we look forward to entering the third term of our successful partnership.”
The agreement also contains community focus, with Nexen supporting the development of the City Football Foundation’s community pitch in East Los Angeles, as well as being the presenting partner of one of the biggest youth football tournaments in the United States – the Nexen Man City Cup.
