Manchester United, one of the world’s most renowned football clubs, have announced a multi-year agreement with Sokin, a leading global payments provider.
With this deal, the UK-headquartered fintech company has become the club’s official global business payment solutions partner.
The cooperation represents a significant step forward in Manchester United’s ambition to improving its global operations through better, faster business-to-business payment solutions. Sokin will supply the club with its industry-leading global business payments technology, which enables smooth and efficient international business-to-business transactions.
As an innovative payments provider, Sokin uses AI to drive efficiencies throughout its platform, passing on cost savings to customers directly. The business’s holistic platform simplifies cross-border accounts payable, receivable, and treasury operations, providing businesses with the transparency and control they need to scale globally.
Furthermore, Sokin has prior experience supporting the global sport industry’s business-to-business payment landscape, having worked with a number of top European football teams as well as the British and Irish Lions during the Test series in Australia this summer.
Marc Armstrong, Chief Business Officer at Manchester United, said, “We are delighted to welcome Sokin to the Manchester United family. Their global business payments infrastructure and forward-thinking approach align perfectly with our commitment to delivering best-in-class services and experiences to our fans and partners across the world.”
Vroon Modgill, Chief Executive Officer of Sokin, said, “Partnering with Manchester United, one of the most iconic teams in global sport, represents a pivotal moment for Sokin and demonstrates the scale we’ve achieved as a business. The way United connects with hundreds of millions of supporters in every corner of the globe, mirrors our own ambition to empower businesses of all sizes to operate internationally, with ease and efficiency. This partnership perfectly embodies our mission to break down the barriers to global commerce – there’s no better partner than a club that defines what it means to be truly global.”
