Manchester United left-back Brandon Williams joins Norwich City on loan

In 2019 during Ole Gunnar Solskjær's first season in charge, Brandon Williams made a big impact.

Manchester United youngster Brandon Williams has joined Norwich City on loan for the 2021/22 season, the club said. The English international has been sent out on loan to continue his development. Williams was part of Manchester United’s youth academy.

In 2019 during Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s first season in charge, Brandon Williams made a big impact and many fans deemed him to be the future.

However, with the stunning rise of Luke Shaw and the incoming Alex Telles from Porto, the competition is too much. Hence Brandon Williams has been sent out on loan so that he can get regular playing time.

It feels very different. It’s the first time I’ve ever played for a different club before but I’m just really excited to get started, meet everybody and get my season going,” said Williams.

It’s a massive club and I like the way they play. I’ve watched them over the years and seen how they play. The club like to play out from the back and play football. That really inspired me to come here, and I think that the head coach can really improve me as a player.”

Everyone has been so welcoming. I’ve really enjoyed my time here already and I can’t wait to meet everybody. I’ve just got a feeling it’ll be a good year.”

Manchester United defeated Leeds United at Old Trafford 5-1 on the opening day in the Premier League. However, they were held to a 1-1 draw against Southampton last weekend. Che Adams scored the goal for Southampton whereas Mason Greenwood got on the scoresheet for United. Manchester United will be next seen in action on Sunday when they face Wolves at the Molineux Stadium at 9 PM IST.
