Manchester United has reportedly agreed €85-90 million fee with Borussia Dortmund for English winger Jadon Sancho

The transfer saga of Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho seems to be coming to a close as the German club has agreed to a transfer fee with Manchester United. A deal between €85-90 million has been reported to be agreed between the clubs by Sky Sports Germany.

Born in Camberwell, London, Sancho quickly rose through the ranks at Manchester City’s youth team. In search of the first-team action, Sancho moved to Borussia Dortmund in 2017. Scoring a whopping 49 goals and 54 assists in three seasons at Dortmund has attracted interest from various top clubs in Europe.

Manchester United made Sancho the top target last summer, but the English club didn’t meet Dortmund’s asking price of €120 million. After yet another successful season in Germany, it is looking certain that Sancho will sign with Manchester United. If the reported fee is true, then Sancho will become the third most expensive player in Manchester United history after Paul Pogba (£89 million) and Harry Maguire (£80 million). He will reportedly earn about £250,000 per week over a five-year contract, making him one of the best-paid players in the Premier League.

Sancho has been in more of a supportive role in Southgate’s England in the Euro 2020 is surely to improve Manchester United’s attack with his pace and eye for goal. Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund will reportedly use the transfer fee to offset €75 million losses due to the pandemic.

The arrival of Sancho is likely to be Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s marquee signing. Sancho will give Manchester United much-needed thrust in the attack to mount a title challenge next season. United have not won the Premier League title since 2013, which was the last season of Sir Alex Ferguson. The Red Devils are also in the market for a center-back with Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane reportedly emerging as the top candidate. The French defender reportedly wants to experience a new adventure in his career.
