Manchester City name OKX as official training wear sponsor in deal extension

Earlier this year, OKX was appointed as the official cryptocurrency exchange partner of the club.

Manchester City have announced OKX as the new training gear sponsor, extending their partnership with the cryptocurrency exchange platform.

Earlier this year, OKX was appointed as the official cryptocurrency exchange partner of the club. With this new deal, the brand’s logo will be seen in front of the club’s training kits for men’s and women’s squads for the upcoming season. As per reports, OKX has paid a seven-figure amount for the deal.

OKX, formerly known as OKEx, is a cryptocurrency exchange based in Seychelles, which provides a platform for trading various assets such as spot and derivatives.

OKX will replace the previous shirt sponsor Expo 2020 Dubai, who itself replaced MarathonBet last season when the betting firm was caught up in Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

OKX has promised to build murals of the team’s players Erling Haaland, Joao Cancelo, Jack Grealish, and John Stones as part of its agreement with the club. Each mural will feature a QR code that fans can scan for a chance to win a season ticket in the sponsor’s hospitality box.

Roel de Vries, Chief Operating Officer at City Football Group said, “We are pleased to expand our relationship with OKX today as they become the official training kit partner of Manchester City, OKX and Man City are aligned on values such as innovation and success and for both parties, everything starts with training and education.

“Since the initial partnership began in March 2022, we have worked together to ‘supercharge the fan experience’ through a number of exciting content activations ahead of high profile fixtures during the culmination of the 2021/22 season and we look forward to continuing to develop these opportunities over the coming year.”
