Manchester City have strengthened their global commercial portfolio through a new partnership with Trendyol, naming the Turkish e-commerce giant as the club’s official online marketplace partner. The agreement brings together one of football’s most commercially established global properties with a fast-growing digital commerce platform seeking to deepen its international footprint.
Under the partnership, Trendyol will collaborate with Manchester City on bespoke content and marketing activations, alongside visibility across the club’s digital and social media platforms. The agreement will also include branding opportunities at the Etihad Stadium, connecting Trendyol with Manchester City’s worldwide fanbase.
Peter Laundy, Senior Vice President Partnerships at City Football Group, said, “We’re delighted to announce our new partnership with Trendyol. As one of the world’s leading e-commerce platforms with a rapidly expanding international presence. Trendyol continues to grow its sponsorship portfolio with some of the most recognised properties in global sport. We look forward to working together throughout this exciting partnership.”
Mohamad ElAnsari, Chief Executive Officer of Trendyol Gulf, added, “Trendyol has long been associated with football in Türkiye, so, as we expand internationally, it’s fitting that we extend our reach with one of the biggest names in the sport. City’s success over the last decade or so has been nothing short of astonishing, so we’re thrilled to partner with a winning brand that lives in the hearts of so many people around the world.”
Founded in Istanbul in 2010, Trendyol has developed into a major e-commerce marketplace, with more than 40 million customers and 250,000 sellers across its international operations. The company has also established a strong association with football in Türkiye, including partnerships with the country’s national teams and domestic competitions.
The partnership provides Trendyol with a high-profile global platform as it pursues growth beyond its traditional markets, while Manchester City adds a major digital commerce player to its commercial ecosystem.
From a sports-business perspective, the deal reflects the increasing convergence between global football, digital platforms and consumer commerce. For Trendyol, Manchester City offers international brand exposure and access to a vast global audience; for the club, the partnership adds a commercially significant e-commerce brand capable of supporting fan engagement and future digital initiatives.
The agreement ultimately positions football not simply as a sponsorship platform, but as a potential customer-acquisition and international growth channel for one of the region’s leading digital marketplaces.
