With the IPL 2022 set to be bigger and better with the addition of two new teams along with a mega auction to be held, CSK will be looking forward to retaining their skipper MS Dhoni.
In the interview, the India Cements Official said that “We are going to retain MS Dhoni, he will be there next year and maybe few more years. Nothing has been decided yet, all he said was fans can see his farewell match in Chennai. There is no way to conclude that next year is his last one”.
Due to COVID concerns, IPL 2021 was shifted to the UAE, the Indian cricket fans would be expecting MS Dhoni to play one more season in front of his home crowd.
Even the former Indian captain in a recent interview had revealed his desire to play his farewell match in Chennai before he retires.
The Dhoni-led side Chennai Super Kings have been playing exceptionally well in the current IPL season. The franchise has already qualified for the playoffs and is currently placed second in the points table with 18 points after Delhi Capitals.
They’ll be playing their next fixture against the KL Rahul-led Punjab Kings at the Dubai International Stadium at 3:30 PM IST on Thursday.
As soon as the IPL 2021 concludes, MS Dhoni will also be seen as the mentor of the Indian cricket team during the T20 World Cup that is going to commence later this month in the UAE.
