The English Football club, Liverpool FC have unveiled a new collaboration with Google Pixel and The Powerhouse Project to introduce the Pixel FC Academy, a cutting-edge initiative to empower young women to break into the world of football media and content creation.

This forward-thinking project offers a unique platform for aspiring female journalists, filmmakers, and content creators to develop their skills and gain hands-on experience in the sports media industry. Participants will benefit from workshops, mentorship sessions, and networking opportunities with industry experts, allowing them to refine their craft and produce original football-related content.

The Pixel FC Academy’s diverse training programs will cover key areas such as sports journalism, video production, social media marketing, and storytelling. In addition, participants will collaborate closely with Liverpool FC’s media team, gaining exclusive access to the club’s global audience and the opportunity to work alongside industry professionals.

As part of the program, academy members will receive real-world experience, including the chance to film with Liverpool FC Women and cover a Barclays Women’s Super League match. Their work will feature across the club’s digital and social media channels, offering valuable exposure to a broad audience. The program may also open doors to future opportunities with Liverpool FC, such as paid work experience, internships, or freelance projects based on their performance.

The initiative is further supported by prominent figures in sports media, including representatives from ITV and 90MIN, who will contribute to the training and inspire women looking to build a career in football media.

Google Pixel, Liverpool FC’s official mobile phone partner since last year, has been focused on closing the visibility gap between men’s and women’s football. The Pixel FC Academy is part of a wider effort to inspire more girls and women to get involved in the sport, supporting the growth of women’s football through increased media presence and a clear pathway for female creators.

This groundbreaking partnership not only advances the mission of Google Pixel and Liverpool FC but also provides a much-needed platform to elevate the voices of women in football media.
