Liverpool FC ink partnership with Extreme Networks

Extreme will install Extreme Wi-Fi 6E access points at Anfield Stadium as part of the deal.

The Premier League club, Liverpool FC have announced a new partnership with a leader in cloud-enabled networking, Extreme Networks as the official Wi-Fi network solutions provider and official Wi-Fi analytics provider. The multi-year deal will begin later this year.

Extreme will install Extreme Wi-Fi 6E access points at Anfield Stadium as part of the deal. The company offer the most latest generation of wireless connectivity and as a result, fans gain from digital features such as mobile ticketing and digital payment transactions. They can also take part in-stadium activities like Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs). The facilities for the roll-out of additional features such as AR/VR will also be provided to the club.

The reds will use ExtremeAnalytics to get real-time data on things like visitor numbers, app usage in the stadium, digital payments, and identifying when fans are most digitally engrossed during a game. Liverpool FC can use this insight and understanding to make data-driven choices and provide more personalised fan experiences and enhance efficiency on matchdays.

ExtremeCloud IQ manages the wireless network which will allow stadium staff to track and control Wi-Fi effectiveness and productivity, manage devices, and obtain insights into real-time analytics. This will assist the club in streamlining network management and performance, as well as scaling IT operations at Anfield.

Recently, Liverpool FC have also signed a regional partnership with Interwetten, a sports betting operator. Interwetten will include offline promotions and content on LFC’s in-market digital platforms in this new long-term agreement.
