Leicestershire County Cricket Club lands a deal with Morningside Pharmaceuticals

In this new agreement, Morningside Pharmaceuticals has acquired the naming rights to the team's outdoor functions venue.

Leicestershire County Cricket Club has announced a new sponsorship deal with Morningside Pharmaceuticals. This new agreement will allow charities and good causes to highlight their work during games.

In this development, Morningside Pharmaceuticals has acquired the naming rights to the team’s outdoor functions venue, which will be recognised as the Morningside Marquee.

The marquee, which was initiated in 2021 at the Upton Steel County Ground in Grace Road, could be used by agencies and community groups to assist with fundraising and awareness activities throughout County Championship games.

It recently organized an event with the Bishop of Leicester Martyn Snow to commemorate the opening of the club’s memorial garden.

Morningside is also the supporter of the Morningside Medical Centre, the team’s on-site treatment facility, and the 2022 partnership is part of a dual naming rights accord.

Since 2016, Morningside has funded the medical centre. It has an open-plan procedure space and an adjoining trauma room for players, as well as match planning and rehabilitative services support and serves as a crowd healthcare facility for St John’s Ambulance on match days.

Hundreds of junior cricketers aged 10 to 18 will also be welcomed to the Morningside Medical Centre for extra education in sports medical science.

Dr Nik Kotecha OBE DL, Chairman and Founder of Morningside Pharmaceuticals, said, “We’re delighted to be able to enhance our partnership with Leicestershire County Cricket Club by sponsoring the Morningside Marquee, which will provide a valuable space for local good causes to showcase their work and fundraise.

“At Morningside, we’re keen to support community projects which promote the benefits of healthy living, sport and team work, as well as giving back to the communities they serve. The cricket club is doing some great work to promote all of these endeavours, which is why we have decided to grow our partnership with the club this year.”
