Leicester City, the Premier League (PL) outfit, have inked a new extension with a snack company, Walkers. In this new long-term collaboration, the deal also includes the women’s team as well.
The Foxes’ men’s and women’s teams will be involved in different software updates throughout the 2022/23 season. Along with this, the Leicester-based brand will also receive prolonged advertising on matchdays at the King Power Stadium.
Walkers’ decision to add Leicester City Women for the first time came following PepsiCo’s recent announcement of a partnership with Women in Football (WIF) to actively support 45 aspiring female coaches on a Football Association (FA) course.
Walkers has been collaborating with Leicester for over 25 years, and their most recent grassroots efforts with the club include the launch of a public football field which is created in part from recycled snack packets.
Fiona Tomlin, Chief Marketing Officer at PepsiCo UK & Ireland, said, “Continuing our partnership with the club and adding to the support of LCFC Women is particularly special for us. It takes PepsiCo’s commitment to supporting its local team and growing the women’s game to the next level, and we can’t wait to see what they go on to achieve.
“With this sponsorship, we’re hoping to inspire even more support for this great city and its footballing legends.”
Harj Hir, Head of Partnerships, Leicester City, commented, “It’s an exciting time for women’s football and the growth and success of LCFC Women in recent seasons has been phenomenal. We look forward to continuing our work with Walkers as we aim to boost LCFC Women’s profile even further.”
Leicester City will be next seen in action in the English top flight on Saturday, October 8 against AFC Bournemouth.
