Lanka Premier League strengthens broadcast reach with Star Sports for 2026 season

The Lanka Premier League (LPL), Sri Lanka’s top franchise T20 competition, is returning for a sixth season from July 17 to August 8, 2026, with live broadcast on Star Sports, as the league develops great viewership momentum and increasing international interest.

The Lanka Premier League, organised by Sri Lanka Cricket and commercially owned by Innovative Production Group FZ, LLC (IPG), has established itself as one of South Asia’s major franchise T20 leagues.

This season, the event, which features 62 Sri Lankan players and 32 foreign stars, continues to bring local potential to high-performance settings, international experience, and elite competition. By doing this, LPL has strengthened its ties to the international game and emerged as a significant contributor to the growth of Sri Lankan cricket.
